The Prisoner and Ex-prisoners Affairs stressed that “prisoners in the Israeli occupation prisons began a new suffering with the arrival of winter, especially that most prisons are in desert areas which are characterized by very low temperature during winter.”
They added that the suffering of prisoners is doubled in this weather, especially for the sick, and the elderly. Occupation prevented entering heating means like clothing and winter coverings for prisoners' rooms and sections. Also, they prevented families from introducing the most basic winter needs for their sons. They obligated prisoners to purchase their winter supplies from the prison "Kantin", in low quality, and imaginative prices, exploiting their urgent need.
