Yaqoub Qaderi, the isolated prisoner and one of "Nafaq Al-Huriya" (the Freedom tunnel) heros, was recently revealed to have thyroid cancer, according to a statement from the Ministry of Detainee's Affairs.
"With great gravity, we look at the growth in prisoners with cancer rates, and observe that the occupation is the main reason for this increase," the ministry reportedly said in a press release. The ministry also guaranteed that the occupation tactics used against the prisoners have made the jails a hub for illness and made the prisoners object to diseases as a result of deliberate medical negligence.
More than 650 sick prisoners in the occupation prisons need permanent medical care, including 25 prisoners with cancer, and about 80 prisoners need urgent surgeries.
