The Israeli occupation has liberated today 83-year-old Fouad Al-Shobaki, Sheikh of Prisoners, after serving 17 years in the Israeli occupation prisons. 

Al-Shobaki, a palestinian politician and military general, was born in Gaza in 1940. He was responsible for the central financial and military administration of the security bodies, and was so close to the Palestinian president Yasser Arafat. He was also one of the members of the revolutionary council of Fatah Movement and the Military Council of the Palestinian Revolution. 

Al-Shobaki has been ill since 2006, as he suffers from prostate cancer and many other diseases. Yet, the Israeli occupation refused a petition he submitted to be released after serving the third of his sentence.
