Secret negotiations for the expansion of the "Gaza Marine" gas field, which is situated around 30 kilometers from the Strip's coasts, started in recent weeks, according to Israeli channel 13.

The channel stated that the continuation of these negotiations is a part of the political and security negotiations between the Palestinian Authority and the occupation entity. It also stated that the Palestinian Authority's inability to manage the field on its own presents some challenges, and the solution is for Egypt to sponsor this project.

An Israeli official stated that the Egyptian and American sides reportedly indicated support for these measures, while the Palestinian side reportedly expressed doubt about the Israeli initiatives.

The first gas field_known as "Gaza Marine"_belongs to the Palestinians, but gas has not been collected from it since it was discovered in the 1990s since the occupation refused to invest the authority in it.
