The Al-Ramla clinic prison administration's actions were objected to by the prisoners, who chose to partially close the sections, according to the Supreme National Emergency Committee of the National Prisoner Movement in the Israeli prisons.
The Emergency Committee stated: “In light of the intransigence of the Ramla clinic prison administration in responding to the demands of sick prisoners in Ramla prison, especially the sick prisoner Walid Daqqa, preventing him from communicating with his family under flimsy pretexts, and for abusing the prisoners by prohibiting many types of food, the Palestinian prisoners decided to partially shut down the prisons' sectors on Tuesday. This comes as a first response to the Al-Ramla the Al-Ramla clinic prison administration's policy.
With the occupation's escalating policy of medical negligence, more than 700 Palestinian prisoners—160 of whom are in bad condition—are being held in jails under occupation without access to the minimally required medical care.
