The extremist Israeli minister of national security, Itamar Ben Gvir, reportedly issued a change to the "administrative release" statute, which forbids the early release of prisoners from prison, according to the Israeli newspaper Maariv.
The newspaper reports that Ben Gvir's latest action is a component of his overall strategy to worsen the living conditions of prisoners.
In order to annoy and impose more suffocating restrictions on the prisoners, Bin Gvir frequently orders arbitrary actions against them, such as closing bakeries, turning off the water, or shortening shower times.
In addition, Ben Gvir seeks to put more restrictions on the Palestinian prisoners, and to advocate for the death penalty in the Knesset.
