The prisoners have begun their protest steps in response to the policy of administrative detention.
The number of administrative detainees has reached a record level of 1202. The Committee of Administrative Prisoners stated in a press release that initial collective steps have been agreed upon in Ofer Prison. These steps include "partial and open disobedience, collective movement to cells, limited hunger strikes, protest and delay in the prison yards, refusing medications, and non-engagement with clinics."
The committee clarified that the protest steps will extend to all Israeli occupation prisons "at the appropriate time." They also mentioned that "the appropriate timing for the strategic step of an open hunger strike will be determined based on developments and how the prison administration deals with us."
