The Palestinian prisoners in Israeli occupation prisons have returned their meals as they continue with collective protest sessions within the prison yard, in part of their ongoing escalation against the prison administration's policies.

Abdul Qadir al-Khatib, the head of the Palestinian Authority's Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Commission, stated, "The Prisoner Movement has announced its continuation of its struggle steps, multiplying its state of alert and mobilization within its ranks until the announcement of an open hunger strike."
Al-Khatib pointed out that there are more than 600 prisoners suffering from chronic diseases who did not have any illnesses before their arrest. However, the environment in which they live is unhealthy and aims to inflict physical and psychological harm on the prisoners.
