The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, broadcast footage showing the rescue of several Israeli prisoners after Israeli forces bombed the location where they were being held.
In a brief statement accompanying a video clip, the Al-Qassam Brigades announced that they had rescued "Zionist prisoners" from a tunnel that was bombed by the Israeli army a few days ago in the Gaza Strip, adding: "More details to follow."
The video shows Al-Qassam fighters digging through the ground to rescue the prisoners. In the background, a fighter can be heard saying, "Wait... wait... wait."
Later scenes show an Israeli prisoner undergoing resuscitation after being pulled from the bombed tunnel, saying, "My body hurts... I’m having difficulty breathing."
On April 15, the Al-Qassam Brigades' military spokesperson, Abu Obeida, announced the loss of contact with the group holding Israeli-American soldier Idan Alexander after an Israeli airstrike on Gaza.
