Huge Settlement Expansion Plan in Al-Quds

Dec 15, 2020 11:20 am

The so-called Al-Quds Municipality approved a huge plan for the construction of 8400 settlement units and towers (up to 30 floors) for administrative and technical offices.

The area chosen for the construction encompasses lands from Beit Safafa, Baqa'a, Talpiot, and Al-Walaja. The plan is to merge the eastern and western sides of Al-Quds from the south; which would change the borders of the city.

The industrial area will be turned into residential, commercial and entertaining facilities by 2040 through expanding the constructions connected with Gilo settlement all the way to Bethlehem.

The occupation will expand the tunnel road in the south to reach Kfar Etzion, and will build two more paths for the 5 populated settlements, whose populations are expected to increase the coming years.

The execution of the plan will begin in early 2021 and end in 2040.
