The Prisoner’s Club stated that the number of infected prisoners in the occupation’s jails quickly rose. There are currently more than 245 infections.
It also said that Ramon prison refused taking more samples from Division 1, and informed the prisoners of completing the scans on the coming Sunday, which is a crime. Delaying the tests and results would result in more exposure and increase of infections in the division.
The Prisoner’s Club said that the majority of the recently infected were transferred to Division (8), which was kept for the infected prisoners after the increase in the rate of infections.
Prisoner Bassel Ajjaj, 45 from Tulkarm, is still staying at the ICU in the Soroka Medical Center for having been infected with the virus. No accurate details have been released on his condition.
Isolation is the only measure the prisons’ administration takes to protect the infected prisoners without offering minimum healthcare.
The prisons’ administration is keeping the pandemic issue in the dark, so pressure must be exercised on the occupation to have international neutral committees that supervise the health conditions of the prisoners.
